Common questions

Does headgear prevent concussion?

No, and no headgear does. Headgear reduces cuts, bruising and the damage from clashes of heads and elbows. Your brain still moves inside your skull. Wear it to keep your face intact and train more often, not to make hard sparring safe.

Open face or full protection?

Open face leaves the cheeks clear, giving better peripheral vision and running cooler. Full protection adds a cheek guard for more cover during regular hard sparring, at the cost of a little side vision.

What size do I need?

Headgear follows head circumference. Measure around your head just above the eyebrows and the widest part at the back. It should be snug with the chin strap done up and should not shift when you shake your head.
